For some of us, February is all about celebrating those we love. And as easy as it is to recognize why we love others, whether that be a friend, family member, or someone in our support system. Believe it or not, February is actually about self-love. And this month, we want you to focus your attention on YOU. Yes, you read that right, YOU. When we think of reasons why we love others, it’s rarely because of how much money they make, their job, grades, physical abilities. But when it comes to recognizing why we love ourselves, it can be difficult, especially when you are struggling with feelings that you are somehow ‘defective’ or ‘broken’. Struggling to love yourself isn’t uncommon, and whether you were raised in a loving , functional household, or a less than supportive and safe one, popular culture, the media, and the world around us have ways of suggesting we are not enough or that we should be different. 

Self love doesn’t happen overnight, which is why we’re giving you 4 prompts, one each week, with suggestions and exercises to help you focus on checking in with your mind, body, and spirit. Being mindful is key to any endeavor we choose to undertake, whether it is professionally, personally, or spiritually motivated.
